基督徒的目標不是求生存，而是要生命昌盛，秘訣就在於向下扎根，在神的話上建立根基。
秘訣就在於“向下札根”
【詩篇 1:2~3】惟喜愛耶和華的律法，晝夜思想，這人便為有福！他要像一棵樹栽在溪水旁，按時候結果子，葉子也不枯乾。凡他所做的盡都順利。But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

【羅馬書 Romans 6:3~13】豈不知我們這受洗歸入基督耶穌的人是受洗歸入他的死麼？所以，我們藉著洗禮歸入死，和他一同埋葬，原是叫我們一舉一動有新生的樣式，像基督藉著父的榮耀從死裡復活一樣。我們若在他死的形狀上與他聯合，也要在他復活的形狀上與他聯合；因為知道我們的舊人和他同釘十字架，使罪身滅絕，叫我們不再作罪的奴僕；因為已死的人是脫離了罪。我們若是與基督同死，就信必與他同活。因為知道基督既從死裡復活，就不再死，死也不再作他的主了。他死是向罪死了，只有一次；他活是向神活著。這樣，你們向罪也當看自己是死的；向神在基督耶穌裡，卻當看自己是活的。所以，不要容罪在你們必死的身上作王，使你們順從身子的私慾。也不要將你們的肢體獻給罪作不義的器具；倒要像從死裡復活的人，將自己獻給神，並將肢體作義的器具獻給神。Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 我們成為基督徒，是與基督同死同復活。在每天的生活中，我們要持續進入基督的死。也要在基督的生命上成長，成為神要我們成為的樣式。
信仰不是關乎我們可以得到什麼，而是關乎我們可以成為怎樣的人

就像夫妻相處久了會越來越像彼此，一個在屬靈上不斷面對注視耶穌的人也會漸漸轉變為基督的樣式。

基督徒常常會在重生得救之後經濟新人和舊人的掙扎，想要活出基督徒該有的樣式，卻困難重重。我們的生命需要持續轉向，與神的生命對齊。
【馬太福音 Matthew 26:38-39】便對他們說：我心裡甚是憂傷，幾乎要死；你們在這裡等候，和我一同儆醒。他就稍往前走，俯伏在地，禱告說：我父阿，倘若可行，求你叫這杯離開我。然而，不要照我的意思，只要照你的意思。Then he said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me." Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."
Choices 做出選擇
饒恕，不能夠改變傷害你的人，但是它可以改變你
亞當夏娃吃了禁果之後，外表看他們仍然在呼吸和存活，靈性卻已經死了。因為一個人的錯誤選擇，影響了全人類的命運。今天，我們所做的決定也會影響深遠。我們當效法耶穌，他每一個決定都是處於順服天父的心意。
倪柝聲：事奉神呢或是事奉殿呢？
如果我們的生命，今天是為了事奉神而活，就不應該注目在人身上，一切從人來的冷漠，質疑和攻擊，以及人的軟弱和錯誤，都不能改變我們事奉的動力。
教會同工，甚至每個會友，在服事過程中，不可避免要看到許多人的問題，這時候，我們生命的中心若是事奉神，就可以有長久的動力前行。
